For our third annual Summer Internship program, we’re fortunate to welcome 19 talented, high-performing interns to JLL in SoCal. These students have been very busy, immersed in real-time real estate projects, and preparing for their final presentations. We’re happy to introduce you to each of them… one at a time.
Meet Sara Ioffrida
Sara is interning in our Downtown Los Angeles office with real estate professional Tony Morales and Associate Christian Wehrly, focused on office tenant representation. During her time at JLL, she has been working on many assignments involved with finding and researching properties using CoStar, and formulating the information into surveys for clients. In addition, she has been assisting in identifying comps in the various sectors throughout Los Angeles. Overall, Sara has been learning all aspects of the deal process, including research, surveys, negotiations, touring, closing and the importance of networking.
What school are you attending?
What is your major?
Real Estate Development
What is your dream job?
To have my own “Flip or Flop” show on HGTV for Newport Beach, CA. While studying my major at USC, I found that I love projects, especially those that include construction and design, and helping people flip their homes into beautiful masterpieces would be so fun!
What is your favorite past time?
Hiking and Snowboarding! Of course, the snowboarding part is limited to winter, but hiking is great all year around.
What app can you absolutely not do without?
The Spotify app! I love listening to music especially as I work on projects, as it adds more fun to the process of almost anything.
Who is your favorite band/musician?
Who is the biggest influence in our life?
Without a doubt, my Mom. She inspires me every day, and gives so much of her time to help me succeed. She is also an awesome woman in business role model, making it on the Top Small Women Owned Business List in Orange County!
What are you enjoying most about your internship experience?
During my time at JLL I have learned so much in such a short time about a variety disciplines within the CRE market. Working under Tony Morales and Christian Wehrly has also specifically helped me to understand the day to day challenges of a real estate broker, and the importance of the steps and processes within deals (research, surveying, negotiations, networking).
What are you hoping to take away from this internship experience?
I hope to leave with a higher level of understanding for the commercial real estate market to compliment my real estate studies at USC.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you.
I have been a coxswain for Women’s Rowing for almost 7 years and was recruited to USC’s D1 Varsity crew team in 2015. Rowing has taught me crucial leadership and teamwork skills that I still use every day.
The JLL Summer Internship Program provides students a head start into the real estate industry. They receive the support from our broker sponsors and professional staff, and the full depth of our corporate resources to achieve their personal and professional ambitions.
