For our third annual Summer Internship program, we’re fortunate to welcome 19 talented, high-performing interns to JLL in SoCal. These students have been very busy, immersed in real-time real estate projects, and preparing for their final presentations. We’re happy to introduce you to each of them… one at a time.
Meet Rachel Wohl
Rachel is interning with Blake Searles, tenant representation professional focused on the West Los Angeles market. Based in our Century City office, Rachel has been busy promoting our company’s capabilities, targeting large companies based in Los Angeles, and researching their commercial real estate history in the West Los Angeles market.
What school are you attending?
What is your major?
What is your dream job?
What is your favorite past time?
Definitely painting. If I could make a career out of it I definitely would. You may have seen a really fancy exhibition of my work as the painted JLL cooler that was the prize for the downtown office’s beer pong competition.
What app can you absolutely not do without?
The camera app. I take so many pictures of everything.
Who is your favorite band/musician?
What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
That it’s about the journey not the destination. Cheesy, yes, but it reminds you that being happy is the ultimate goal… above everything else. It helps put everything in perspective.
Who is the biggest influence in your life?
Probably my mom. Whatever she says goes. That woman runs the show, let me tell you. She has an incredible story and I’ve never seen anyone work harder. I’m really happy whenever someone compares me to her- that’s one heck of a compliment.
What is a unique adventure or hobby people would say “wow” to?
I love to free dive for lobster when it’s mini season! That’s when you get two days in the Florida Keys to freely catch the lobsters out there; it’s a blast!
What are you enjoying most about your internship experience?
I have really loved the weekly meetings downtown where all the interns come together to listen to a speaker from different disciplines within JLL. I feel like I’ve gotten to talk and really connect with almost every intern on the team. It’s a really interesting group of people.
What are you hoping to take away from this internship experience?
A job offer. Kidding! While that would be cool, I’m really happy to have just been fully immersed in the commercial real estate world because (while I’ve known for a while that this is the field I want to go into) I had never actually worked in it before. Now, as the internship comes to an end, I feel like I’ve gotten the best grasp on the industry in my time here through being able to see and better understand all aspects of the business.
Describe yourself in three words.
Silly, driven, happy
Tell us something most people wouldn’t know about you.
I am actually a professional voice over artist! A lot of people don’t know what voice over is.. basically, it’s when you hear a voice but do not see it. If you ever saw the animated show “Rolie Polie Olie” back in the day on Disney Channel then you’ve heard my voice! Since at JLL this summer I’ve booked a couple commercials, listen up for me on TV if you know my voice!
The JLL Summer Internship Program provides students a head start into the real estate industry. They receive the support from our broker sponsors and professional staff, and the full depth of our corporate resources to achieve their personal and professional ambitions.
