For our third annual Summer Internship program, we’re fortunate to welcome 19 talented, high-performing interns to JLL in SoCal. These students have been very busy, immersed in real-time real estate projects, and preparing for their final presentations. We’re happy to introduce you to each of them… one at a time.
Meet Cordell Lietz
Cordell is interning with Capital Markets professional, Brian Halpern, who leads our real estate investment banking group in Los Angeles. Based in our Century City office, Cordell has been focused on research, running sales and lease comps and some underwriting for the REIB team. But mostly he’s been shadowing Brian, learning all the different aspects of what it takes to put a deal together.

What are you enjoying most about your internship experience?
Being immersed in the Real Estate world. It has been incredible to see things I learned in school used in the real world. On top of that being able to shadow my broker, Brian Halpern, has been an incredible experiencing. It has been so helpful to watch and learn all the different aspects of what it takes to put a deal together. That’s something that is really hard to teach in school and something I could only find here at this internship.
What are you hoping to take away from this internship experience?
I am really hoping to take away a solid understanding of the brokerage business, not just as it applies to capital markets but all facets. I also hope to build relationships with potential mentors that can help guide me beyond my short summer here. Lastly I am hoping to take the life and career advice that people have given to me, and apply it as best as I can to my final two years of school as well as the start of my career.
